Brandy’s Philadelphia

Philadelphia row homes

Brandy returns to her childhood home in Philadelphia

After a four year stint in L.A., pursuing a career as a puff piece reporter, Brandy has returned to her family’s row home in South Philly…. Well ‘Pursuing a career’  isn't entirely accurate.  More like hiding out in L.A. trying to get over a broken heart and then forced back to Philly for the wedding of her BFF.

But, Brandy learns that you can come home again, and Philly row homes are where everyone in Brandy’s life lives….well, almost everyone.

“The houses in my neighborhood are cramped, narrow, brick structures called row homes.  They are linked together by common walls, the better to hear your neighbors and be able to keep tabs on them.”

~ Brandy from Secret, page 15

Rittenhouse Square apartment house

Not everyone lives in a Philly row home…

Sexy Nicholas Santiago lives here, in this Rittenhouse Square apartment building.

The door opened onto a small foyer, which led into the living room.  It was a large room with hardwood floors and cathedral ceilings.  It was furnished with an overstuffed beige leather couch and two matching chairs.  There were wall-to-wall bookshelves, filled to overflowing with books, but the most impressive piece of furniture, by far, was the magnificent old baby grand piano that stood in the corner by the window.  –

Barnes and Noble Cafe

Barnes and Noble Café, Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia

The Barnes and Noble Café, located on the second floor of the store at Eighteenth and Walnut served as my office for the afternoon.  I settled into a cushy seat next to the window with an espresso and some dark chocolate grahams and watched the rain tap against the glass. ~ Brandy, from Blind Date, page 218

Coincidentally, this very comfy spot also has a direct view to Nick’s apartment building.  Not always the best thing – especially when Brandy can see those she just might not want to see exiting Nick’s building.

Only from Philly, and only the very best…..

Potito's Canoli's

Philadelphia is known as the City of Brotherly Love.

It is also known for its food.  The best food!  Philly food lovers can name the best places to get cheese steaks, Italian hoagies, pizza (or tomato pie as it is sometimes called), meatball sandwiches and best of all - Potito’s Cannoli, which are filled fresh to order and simply to die for.
